Florina L. Apolinar Claudio, MA

Florina L. Apolinar Claudio specializes in providing therapeutic services to individuals, couples, and families. Florina understands that the therapy setting can be anxiety provoking. Therefore, she works at providing a setting where clients can feel understood while also being supported and challenged. She helps clients identify and employ their strengths throughout therapy to assist in creating change.

She also has an awareness of and is sensitive to race/gender related issues. Florina has an understanding of cultural communities, familial structures, beliefs, and values that impact clients’ lives. In her work with clients, Florina guides them in achieving their goals by teaching coping strategies, mindfulness, and implementing interventions that are best suited for the client and situation at hand. Additionally, she has experience working with transgender clients seeking to transition.

Florina’s credentials involve receiving her degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Syracuse University in 2009 and is licensed in both New York and Massachusetts. She is currently working on her Ph.D. in Couple and Family Therapy through Drexel University. She is also a Student Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).
